Police of the Iranian Provinces of Fars (Pars) detained five people on suspicion of involvement in cases of poisoning girls in schools in the country. This was reported by the ISNA news agency with reference to the official representative of the police Said Montazarulmehdi.
“Five people were detained in the Fars Province, including three women. The detainees sprayed toxic substances in the courtyards of educational institutions for girls,” said Montazarulmehdi.
He explained, the suspects sprayed gaseous nitrogen in the region of seven schools. In particular, three detained women are involved in the poisoning of 53 schoolgirls, the representative of the police noted.
He said that during the interrogation of the suspects it became known that the action was aimed at “forming a negative perception of the Iranian administration and provoking distrust in schools.”
