Turkey begins the process of approving the application of Finland in NATO. The issue will be considered in the Turkish parliament. This was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a joint press conference with the Finnish colleague Sauli Ninisto on Friday in Ankara.
He emphasized that Turkey has always supported the Policy of the Open Doors.

Erdogan noted that Turkey considers Finland’s position on the issue of supporting the candidacy of Ankara for full membership in the EU.
The Turkish leader recalled that the diplomatic dealer between the two countries were established back in 1924, and since then they were only strengthened, a clear example of which the support provided by Finland of Turkey against the backdrop of the February earthquakes.
Erdogan also noted the significance of the development of economic ties with Finland.
