Turkey closed sky for Russian double registration aircraft

The authorities of Turkey from November 1 banned the flight through the country’s airspace for double -registration aircraft (that is, registered in two jurisdictions). Aircraft of Russian airlines fall under this definition, Russian media reported.

The ban began to operate on November 1. For example, because of it, the duration of flights to Egypt increased by 20-30 minutes. The Ministry of Transport intends to negotiate with Turkey on this issue in the near future, the representative of the department said.

The representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency refused to comment.

A similar ban on the end of May has been in effect in China. Boeing and Airbus aircraft cannot fly over the territory of the PRC.
