2023 may become hottest in history of observations

2023 may be the hottest year in the history of observations. This was reported by the observation program for changing the climate “Copernicus”.

According to Copernicus, the first 9 months of 2023 became the hottest in the history of observations, exceeding the 2016 indicator by 0.05 degrees, when the hottest year was recorded.

Last month, the air temperature was 16.38 degrees, which is 0.93 degrees higher than the average norm.

This is 0.5 degrees more than in the hottest September 2020. Thus, September 2023 was recorded as the hottest September.

For Europe, the last month has also become the hottest September: the air temperature increased by 1.1 degrees compared to 2020.
