70th anniversary of Degati’s 70th anniversary was solemnly celebrated in Baku

solemn evening “Witness of the past and future of mankind”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the world-famous French photographer of Azerbaijani origin of Degati’s Cut.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Prominent public figures, representatives of culture and science, creative intelligentsia and youth, heads of diplomatic missions took part in it.

The opening presented a video material that tells about the life and activity of the cuts of Degati, the personnel of his photographs shot in many countries of the world.

R. Degati for 55 years of activity held 460 exhibitions in different countries of the world.

In particular, on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the work of the Digati cuts were presented in many significant projects in Paris, the headquarters of UNESCO, Moscow, the UN headquarters in New York, the European parliament in Brussels, etc. He is the author of 30 books, among which two are dedicated to Azerbaijan. Reza Degati is the owner of the prestigious international awards, the gentleman of the French National Order for Merit. Numerous reports and documentary films have been shot about the photojournalist. On July 25, President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to awardly Degati’s reasons by the Order of Dostlug for many years of fruitful activity to bring the realities of Azerbaijan to the world community.

The audience of standing welcomed the hero of the day, who rightfully earned the highest honors for many years of fruitful activity. During the evening, a number of photographs of the master were demonstrated, the stories of their creation were told, shots from various significant international events and projects with the participation of Degati’s cut.

Minister of Culture Anar Kerimov, congratulating Degati’s anniversary, emphasized the big role of the photojournalist in the business of the world community of the fair and peaceful position of Azerbaijan, the country’s struggle for the liberation of Karabakh from Armenian aggression, the facts of Armenian vandalism for almost a thirty -year period of occupation.

Degati Reza expressed gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for the presentation of the Order of the Dostlug, as well as for the organization of the evening, which, according to him, will become one of the most unforgettable in his life.
