A forest fire is growing in Turkey

Forest Fire in the Turkish province of Mersin stew the second day. While the efforts of the rescuers are unsuccessful, a strong wind interferes with them, the newspaper Türkiye writes.

The fire began on the morning of September 7. It quickly spread due to the wind. Firefighters are trying to take control of the ground and air, as it moves towards the city of Silifke.

“850 people react to fire from the ground. 11 aircraft and 29 helicopters also provide air support. Frequent wind changes and strong smoke in the region make our work difficult. To date, 25 hectares have suffered from fire,” the regional director of the forestry said farms of the province of Mustafa Yalchin.

Aviation and ground crews were sent to the province. Additional firefighters, helicopters, irrigation machines and tankers sent from the provinces Karaman, Antalya, Adan and Konya.

The authorities evacuated 30 houses in the village of Gulnar, where there was a fire. Two secondary schools were prepared as shelters for citizens. The flame at the last moment did not reach the village. The fire reached the ground road by Mersin-Antaly D400, the movement on it is now stopped.
