A new strain of avian influenza began to spread in China

In China, the incidence of the new strain of bird flu is growing, reports Reuters.

This year 21 was recorded 21 case of infection of people with an H5N6 bird influenza subtype, whereas in 2020 there were only five such cases. It is already known about six fatal outcomes, many patients are in critical condition.

“The increase in the number of cases of people in China this year is concerned about this year. This is a virus that causes high mortality,” said Tiys Quick, Professor of comparative pathology in the medical center of the University of Erasmus in Rotterdam.
