African Union: Ukrainian crisis affects whole world

African delegation wants to encourage Russia to enter into negotiations with Ukraine.

This was stated on Saturday in St. Petersburg the President of the Comor Islands and the chairman of the African Union (AS) Azali Assumani.

“We would like to encourage you to enter into negotiations with Ukraine in order to put an end to this difficult problem,” he said.

“Wars always had terrible consequences. And the longer they continue, the deeper and heavier their consequences,” Assumani continued.

“The Ukrainian crisis affects not only two friendly neighboring Slavic countries, but also the whole world. It affects the African continent. He caused unprecedented problems in the field of food and energy security,” the chairman of the AS stressed.

Russia is greatly respected to the fundamental position of the African states in favor of the peaceful settlement of conflicts and the formation of a more fair world order, in a response word, Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Vladimir Putin noted that Kyiv, not Moscow, refused negotiations.

“I want to emphasize that Russia is very respected with the fundamental position of the African states in favor of maintaining global and regional stability and security, peaceful settlement of conflicts, forming a more fair model of international relations,” said Putin.

The African delegation, in addition to Assumani, includes the presidents of Zambia Hakaine Hithynem, Senegal Maki Sal and South Africa, Siril Ramapos, Prime Minister of Egypt Mustafa Madbuli, as well as special representatives of the presidents of the Republic of Congo and Uganda Flran NSIBA and Rukhakan Rugunda.
