Against background of protests in China, Covid-19 restrictions weaken

The authorities of Beijing and Guangzhou weakened some measures to combat a coronavirus infection against the background of protests and calls for the cessation of restrictions after a deadly fire in Urumchi. It is reported by South China Morning Post.

Beijing healthcare organs emphasize that it is required to determine the increased risk zones where the probability of infection is high.

As a result of a fire in the city of Urumchi, 10 people died in Sinjiang. Then it was reported that due to restrictions on the movement introduced from the Covid-19, people could not be saved. Promotions, in addition to Urumchi, were held in Beijing, Guanzhzhou, Jun and Shanghai. Protesters demand to weaken coronavirus restrictions, some also insisted on resigning the chairman of China Xi Jinping. The authorities are harshly dispersing rallies.
