It is impossible to indicate the date of relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan. Throughout history, two countries fought together against the enemy, the ambassador of Turkey in Azerbaijan Jahit Bagchi at a meeting in the community of Western Azerbaijan.
The ambassador noted that Turkey always helped Azerbaijan in difficult times, and Azerbaijan provided assistance to Turkey:
“During the 44-day Patriotic War, Turkey provided its brother with political and moral support. To ensure peace in this region, we believe that Azerbaijan, Turkey and Armenia should discuss existing issues. Only in this way can you achieve peace.”
