According to the USGS Geological Service (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was in the city of Karavel in the Aekyp region in Peru.

The underground shocks were located at a depth of 19 kilometers.

The Institute of Geophysics Peru (PGI) reported that after the earthquake in some sections of the Panamerican highway there were landslides.

The National Emergency Center (Coen), in turn, reported on the social network X that the earthquake caused damage to the educational institution, but there were no victims and destruction.
