Major General Zhailaubek Halykula was detained in Almaty, the Kazakh media reports.
It is noted that in 2009-2016, Halykula headed the Department of Internal Affairs of the Almaty and Akmola regions of Kazakhstan.
Zhailaubek Halykula suspect that he took a bribe from a person and promised to stop a criminal case against him.
