Another major company leaves Russia to Central Asia

LG is preparing to close the plant in Russia and transfer production to Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan, Russian media write.

It is reported that top managers from the Russian unit have already moved to the capital of Uzbekistan Tashkent.

Sources cannot say for sure where the company will move: to Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan. The leadership is still discussing these options with local authorities.

LG plant has already been in Kazakhstan, it has been working since 1998, but it was closed a few years ago. Kazakhstan officials offered a South Korean company to open a new production. In Uzbekistan, in turn, LG can use the production capacities of the local manufacturer Artel.
