Another novelty of Turkish defense industry: first unmanned ship

In Turkey, the serial production of AUSV armored unmanned ship, which was developed as part of the ULAQ project, began in Turkey. It is reported by Daily Sabah with reference to the representative of the shipyard onur yyldyryma.

It is expected that 50 such ships will be produced per year. Mass production is initiated at the request of individual states that showed interest in the project.

The ship was developed in collaboration with Meteksan Defense Industry, the leader of the defense industry of Turkey. According to Yyldyryma, AUSV received a Korealp module with a 12.7 mm machine gun, the tests of which began several years ago and were completed in January. In 2021, the unmanned ship managed to hit the targets with great accuracy during the teachings of Denizkurdu (“sea wolf”) conducted by the Turkish naval forces. During the exercises, AUSV used Cirit missiles produced by another Turkish defense giant – Rocketsan.

AUSV range – 400 km, maximum speed – 65 km/h. On the ship, modern surveillance devices and equipment of encrypted communication are installed. You can control it both remotely and through a satellite, AUSV is also able to perform tasks autonomously.
