Azerbaijani constant representative of the UN Yashar Aliyev, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council in New York, expressed regret due to abuse of Armenia of the Council of Security for the campaign of manipulations, distortions and falsifications. Yashar Aliyev rejected all claims to Azerbaijan from the Permanent Protection of Armenia at the UN, saying that they are completely false and baseless.
The forefront noted that Karabakh, which Armenia and some members of the Council of People’s Commissars mistakenly call the “Nagorno -Karabakh”, is an internationally recognized sovereign region of Azerbaijan, which has been under the occupation of Armenia for almost 30 years, and this was once again confirmed in resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884 Security Councils. The legal name of this territory of Azerbaijan is currently at the Karabakh Economic District or abbreviated as the Karabakh district.
As for the situation around the Lachin road, Yashar Aliyev once again recalled that Azerbaijan resolutely rejects all Armenia’s claims. The Lachin road is completely located on the territory of Azerbaijan, in the Lachinsky district. This area was occupied by the armed forces of Armenia in May 1992. The population of Lachin, numbering more than 77 thousand inhabitants, was forced to leave their native lands, the city and surrounding villages were plundered and burned by the Armenian army.
The forefront noted that two years ago, after a 44-day war, in accordance with paragraph 6 of the Trilateral statement, when the Lachinsky district was returned to Azerbaijan, our state guaranteed the safety of people, vehicles and goods moving along the Lachinsky road.

According to a tripartite statement, the Lachinsky road is intended for use exclusively for humanitarian purposes. The unlawful use of the road for any other purposes, including illegal military activities, such as the Min Institution or Min or Min. The illegal turnover of the natural resources of Azerbaijan is a violation of the conditions of the tripartite declaration and is unacceptable, ”the Permanent Representative stressed.
