Armed man burst into city hall in Armenia

A man with a grenade on Friday evening burst into the building of the City Hall of the Armenian city of Masis. Currently, the building is cordoned off by police officers.

According to some Armenian media, shots are sounded. According to other sources, the first deputy chief of the police of Armenia Aram Ovannisyan is negotiating with a man. The city hall building is cordoned off, the roads are blocked.

Vice-mayor Masis Norair Akopyan noted that the man is in a drunk state, did not make any requirements, the motives of his actions are incomprehensible. His personality is also not established. Police, SNB and special units work on the spot. The police have not yet provided official comments.
