Armenian State Security Service becomes subordinate to Pashinyan

The State Security Service under the National Security Service can be transferred to the subordination directly to the Prime Minister of Armenia, Sputnik-Armenia reports.

Relevant amendments have been proposed to the law “On ensuring the safety of persons subject to special state protection.” Legislative amendments have been published on the single portal of legal acts.

“… It is planned to grant the state security service the status of a body subordinate to the Prime Minister, removing it from the system of the National Security Service,” the message says.

In addition to reassigning the security service, it is also planned to allocate a doctor specifically for the speaker of parliament. Until now, free medical services were provided only for the president, prime minister and their families.
