Azerbaijan: disorders were revealed due to biologically active additives

In the first 9 months of 2021, 2130 appeals were received in the food security agency of the Azerbaijan Republic in connection with the import of biologically active additives. 1731 Of them received food safety certificates.

This was announced by the chairman of the APB Gosgar Tahmazli at a press conference dedicated to the agency’s activities for the first 9 months of this year.

He noted that in two appeals in which heavy metals were discovered, a decision was made to destroy these products.

Products on two applications were returned due to detection in their composition of heavy metals and non-compliance with organoleptic indicators.

According to Tamemazli, various inconsistencies were identified in connection with the BAA: “Facts are revealed on labels on the possibility of using dietary supplements for the treatment and prevention of diseases, as well as the content of information that are misleading. In addition, there are facts non-compliance with packaging and instructions for applying the requirements of current legislation, illegal sale without a certificate of food safety, lack of information on packaging that the BAA is not intended for children, hosting photos and drawings, vacation database for a doctor’s prescription in cases where it is prohibited and sell them in pharmacies as medicines. “
