Azerbaijan, Iran and Georgia launched a new corridor

In test mode, a new transport corridor is launched through Iran, Azerbaijan and Georgia, which will connect the Persian Bay with the Black Sea, writes IRNA.

According to information, the officials of Azerbaijan, Iran and Georgia were attended by the event dedicated to the launch of the corridor.

“Connection through this corridor of the countries of Southeast Asia and India with Eastern and Western Europe will expand the land transport links between the countries of the region. It is planned to transport 20 million tons of cargo. In the 20th year it is planned to achieve transportation of 50 million tons of cargo per year” , “said the Director General for the Office for International Transit and Transportation of Roads and Transportation Ire Javad Hedayati.

Headayati noted that the launch of the corridor aims to develop economic and transport links, adding that after completing the freight transportation in test mode, a tripartite meeting will be held on the details of this issue and an agreement will be achieved between the parties to simplify traffic.
