The power of the Tanap gas pipeline, through which Azerbaijani gas passes, can be doubled. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Turkey Fatikh Donmes in an interview with TRT Haber.
Commenting on the Memorandum of the understanding, which was signed by the European Union and Azerbaijan to send more natural gas to Europe, the minister said: “Tanap power can be doubled. Annual cubic meters of natural gas have reached 31-32 billion cubic meters.” For this, according to him, investments will be required, since it is necessary to increase the throughput of the pipeline.
Fatikh Donmes confirmed Turkey’s readiness to participate in the project. “We actively participated in the“ Turkish stream ”and Tanap projects. We contributed to our own supply security and to ensure the safety of our European neighbors. We will be there again,” he said.
