The Women’s national team of Azerbaijan in chess reached the quarterfinals of the World Command Championship, which is held in the Spanish city of Sjes.
Today, our chess players beat the Spanish national team with a score of 3.5: 0.5 and provided 4th place in the group “A”, which gives the right to play in the 1/4 finals. Gulnar Mamedova, Ulvia Fatalieva and Turkian Mammadyarova won their parties, and Gyunai Mamedzade played a draw.
Following the results of 5 rounds of the group stage in the Azerbaijani national team, 4 points. In addition to Spain, we also played a draw with India and Armenia and gave way to Russia and France. The 1st place in the group confidently occupied Russian women who won all five matches and scored 10 points. 5 points in India and Armenia. France and Spain scored 2 points and completed performance.
Having grabbed the 4th place, in the quarterfinals, Azerbaijan received the winner of the group “B” in rivals. They became the national team of Ukraine, which has 6 points. Also in the playoffs made their way Georgia, Kazakhstan and Germany.
