Azerbaijan: there is a campaign to prevent non -infectious diseases

Today, a press conference was held at the Center for Public Health and Reforms (TsOZR) of the Ministry of Health, dedicated by May 17-World Hypertension Day, and dedicated to the information and educational campaign for the prevention of non-infectious diseases in Azerbaijan.

The press service of the Ministry of Health stated that the main goal of the campaign is to help people lead a healthier lifestyle, control blood pressure and blood sugar.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the Central Administrative District Rahib Mammadov emphasized that the Ministry of Health and public health specialists regularly conduct information and educational work among the population. It was brought to attention that the information and educational campaigns are aimed at stimulating citizens more responsible for their health and arranging the necessary information to preserve and strengthen it.

In his speeches, the head of the department of health and planning of the Central Department Store Nabil Seidov, the chairman of the Azerbaijani Society of Cardiologists Uzeyr Ragimov and others noted that non -infectious diseases are one of the most urgent problems of our time. According to the World Health Organization, 41 million people die from non -infectious diseases in the world, which is 71 percent of all deaths. The main causes that provoke the development of non -infectious diseases are smoking, alcohol abuse, malnutrition and lack of physical activity.

At the end of the event, answers to the questions of media representatives were given, the prepared COZR informational-learning materials on the prevention of non-infectious diseases.
