Along with Russia and Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan will open regular direct flights to the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRK). According to Haqqin.az, this was announced at a meeting of the parliament of the republic by the Minister of Transport of TRK Erhan Aricli.
However, according to E. Arikli, the Russian government faced great pressure from the Greece and the Greek public, as well as Greek Cyprus, after which it postponed flights.
