Azerbaijani military fought for 5 days with severe wound

The captain of the Azerbaijani army Elvin Mammadov continued to fight during the 44-day war for 5 days, despite a serious wound on his face.

Captain Mammadov, who served as part of special forces of the Azerbaijan, during the Second Karabakh war fought in the Kelbadzharsky, Dzhebrail and Fizulin directions.

Mamedov, one of the soldiers who hoisted the Azerbaijani flag in Fizuli. He was injured in person during the operation to liberate the Lachinsky corridor. Despite this, for 5 he did not leave the battlefield to fulfill the task set before his detachment.

In an interview with an anadol correspondent, on the occasion of the third anniversary of the Victory of Azerbaijan in the Patriotic War, he spoke about the participation in the battles for the liberation of the Azerbaijani lands from the occupation, his wound and the treatment process.

Mammadov was awarded many medals and awards for heroism manifested in the war. “We successfully completed the task. My detachment and I settled down near the Lachinsky corridor, out of sight of the enemy. We attacked a watch tower. Despite the wound, I continued to fight and we occupied the Lachin corridor,” the soldier recalls.

According to him, the bullet hit him touched his tongue and broke his jaw, “my wound was heavy. But we had to move forward. Although my comrades advised me to leave for treatment, I did not want to leave my comrades. Due to the wound I could not eat and drink water. I fought hunger and thirst for 5 days, ”he said

“I was injured on November 2, and on November 7 I was taken to the hospital. In the hospital in Fizuli, the doctor Gurbanov operated on me. He conducted the operation in such a way that the injuries on my face were not noticeable. Subsequently, our relationship as a patient and the doctor grew out Friendship, ”he continued.

The doctor Vugar Gurbanov recalls that when Elvina was brought to the hospital, his face was bandaged, but he smiled.

According to Gurbanov, Elvin asked not to send him to Baku and operate on the spot. “We immediately took him to an operation, which lasted 4 hours. After a successful operation, we sent him to Baku. I did not find it after the war. Now we were not Just a patient and a doctor, and friends. As long as we have such warriors, it is worth living in Azerbaijan, ”he said.
