Bakcell helped youth to continue education during a pandemic

Bakcell and Association “Children’s Village SOS” continue to support children and adolescents devoid of parental care and children from poor families.

Another initiative implemented under this long-term cooperation was the project “Support for Continuing Education during the COVİD-19 Pandemic. Thanks to this project, 30 young people were able to continue distance learning during the Lokdaun period. For this, “SOS children’s villages” in Baku and Ganja were provided with the necessary number of computers, as well as connecting to the Internet. As a result, the performance of adolescents living under the patronage of the organization exceeded the results of the 2018/2019 academic year, that is, the year before the pandemic.

“COVID-19 has changed the world and we had to look for new ways to contribute to the education of young people, which is one of the main priorities of our CSR strategy. We note that, as part of cooperation with the Association “Children’s Village SOS”, Bakcell provides continuous support to children deprived of parental care and children from poor families since 2009. The project “Start and Improve Your Business”, implemented jointly with the Association became the winner of the first National CSR Award “Milli KSM Mükafatı 2018”. The project was aimed at doing business ideas of young people living under the patronage of the “Children’s Village SOS Azerbaijan” Association, and graduates other boarding schools of the country. Young participants in this project were able to open their business with financial support for Bakcell.
