On the eve of the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, in an interview with the Armenian media, said that the Armenian government was working on a new version of the draft peace agreement with Azerbaijan and will transfer it to Baku in the near future. He indicated that “the draft peace agreement with Azerbaijan includes a provision on the creation of an international mechanism to discuss the rights and security of Armenians living in Karabakh.”
The head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Ayhan Gadjizade commented on the statement of Grigoryan.
According to Hajizade, similar manipulations of the Armenian side that impede the negotiation process under a peace agreement once again demonstrate that Armenia is not interested in establishing peace in the region.
“In the process of negotiations on a peaceful agreement, the initiative of Armenia on” creating an international mechanism for protecting the rights and security “of the Armenian residents living in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, and efforts to include the provision on this in the draft of the bilateral peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia are completely unfounded, And such attempts will not give any results.
These efforts show that Armenia has not yet abandoned its territorial claims against Azerbaijan, contrary to the norms and principles of international law, as well as the Prague and Sochi agreements, according to which countries mutually recognize the territorial integrity and sovereignty of each other, ”said Hajizade.
Azerbaijani representative once again reminds Yerevan that “Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan, and the rights and safety of the population of Armenian origin living in this region will be ensured in accordance with the Constitution of the Azerbaijani Republic. The intervention of Armenia in the process of reintegration of residents of Armenian origin , which is the internal question of Azerbaijan, is unacceptable. “
