Baku: Armenia carried out ethnic cleaning against Azerbaijanis

Armenia pursued a policy of systemic ethnic purges against Azerbaijanis living in Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia and in Armenia itself.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov as part of the hearing in the case of the application of the International Convention on the Elimination of all forms of racial discrimination (ICERD) in the International Court of Hague.

“Armenia carried out a systemic campaign to expel the Azerbaijani population from the places of living of original origin in order to create a mono -ethnic Armenian population at this place. The facts and evidence presented by Azerbaijan regarding the purposeful placement of mines and environmental crimes are only part of this systemic and racially motivated campaign” – said the diplomat.

Elnur Mammadov brought to the attention of the MS judges that during the years of occupation of Azerbaijani territories, Armenia was led by a party, who called itself the ideological successor of Nzhda, its teachings are still maintained at the official level, and various Armenian fascist groups are used.

.

According to him, the appeal of Azerbaijan concerns the very essence of the Convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination, as it affects the issue of 30-year ethnic purge and the associated with this the destruction of the Armenia of the Azerbaijani population in the former occupied territories.
