Bayden called for US to abolish fuel tax in USA

US President Joe Biden called on Congress and the States authorities to temporarily abolish the fuel tax in the country, the White House’s statement published on the administration website said.

“He calls for the congress to temporarily cancel the fuel tax three months before September inclusive without reducing funds to the road fund. He also calls on the states to take similar actions to ensure a direct reduction in the load, or by reducing local fuel taxes, or through other support of consumers, ”the report said.

At the same time, the head of state is confident that the abolition of the fuel tax is far from the only measure that can be taken to reduce the expenses of the population and support Americans in conditions of record inflation in several decades.

According to Bayden, the current indicators of the federal budget, the deficiency of which is planned at a level of less than 1.6 trillion dollars at the end of the year have the abolition of the fuel tax and temporary decrease in the treasury income.
