Bayraktar: Canadian embargo will not damage production of Turkish drones

Cancellation of Canada permits for exporting unmanned technologies to Turkey will not damage the Baykar large Turkish Aviation Firm, the Chief Technical Director of Selhuk Baikraktar said, reports mk-turkey.ru.

Criticizing the embargo, Seljuk Baikraktar stated that if Turkey decides not to sell Canada armed unmanned aerial vehicles during an emergency, it can cause her serious problems, as Turkey is one of the four countries in the world that produce combat drones.

Baikraktar stressed in his statement that the armed drone TB2 was designed with a “fully national and unique design”, including all its components, computers, software, hardware, aerodynamics and mechanics. “We proudly produce it with 93% of the internal contributions, which can be considered to be a global record,” he added.

Noting that Baykar exports drones into several countries, Bayraktar said that the details that Turkey imported from Canada, including cameras, are already being developed and manufactured within the country.

Bayraktar also stressed that Canada, like many other countries with a developed aviation industry, currently does not have drones or armless drones of those classes that Turkey produces.
