Brazil revealed a new mutation of Omicron strain

Brazilian epidemiologists revealed a new variety of Omicron-Skamma of Coronavirus, the local newspaper Folha de S.Paulo.

According to the publication, we are talking about mutations of the combined version of Omcron BA.1 and Ba.2, which is not in the international data database.

A new strain was found in a three-year-old child in San Paulo on February 16. At the same time, scientists note that there is no reason to talk about the emergence of a new full -fledged recombination of Omicron, since for this the corresponding mutation should be confirmed in at least five samples.

Brazil in the prevailing version of SARS-COV-2 in Brazil remains a type of BA.2 Omcron, which accounts for about 70% of all cases of infection.
