In the coming days, Russian units will make the priority in the Donbass for the forcing of the Seversky Donets River in the Liman area and will maintain the main efforts around Severodonetsk. This is stated in the reconnaissance review of the Ministry of Defense of Britain, reports “European Truth”.
Intelligence noted that the capture of most of the city of Liman in the north of the Donetsk region is a preliminary operation for the next stage of Russia’s offensive on the Donbass.
Liman is of strategic importance, since there is a large railway junction, as well as access to important railway and road bridges across the Seversky Donets River, the Ministry of Defense of Britain noted.
In the coming days, Russian units in this area will probably make a priority for breaking the river, the review says.
Now Russia remains 40 km to the east, around the Severodonetsk boiler, but the Liman bridgehead will give Russia an advantage in the potential next phase of the offensive on the Donbass, when it will probably try to advance to key Ukrainian cities deeper in the Donetsk region – Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.
