British intelligence: Russia increased activity in sky over Donbass

“Russian air activity remains high above the territories in the Donbass, Russian aircraft strikes using both controlled and uncontrollable ammunition. However, the combined use of aviation and artillery has become a key factor in the recent tactical successes of Russia in the region.” This is stated in the message of the British Ministry of Defense, reports RBC-Ukraine.

The document notes that the wider use of uncontrollable ammunition led to the large -scale destruction of settlements in the Donbass and almost certainly caused significant concomitant damage and victims among the civilian population.

The department said that Russia’s inability to suppress or destroy the Ukrainian strategic air defense systems in the early days of the conflict limited its possibilities for providing tactical air support to terrestrial maneuvering elements, which contributed to the failure of the attack on Kyiv.

“as a result of this, Russian air activity was mainly limited to deep blows using cruise missiles of air and ground launch to violate the movement of Ukrainian reinforcements and supply,” the report said.
