Russian troops in the Donbass dozens of times superior to Ukrainian in the amount of artillery and ammunition and at times – in the range of their weapons, and this oppressively acts on the fighting spirit of Ukrainians, writes the British newspaper Independent with reference to a certain reconnaissance report.

In particular, Independent claims that in the number of guns and MLRS Russia, Russia surpasses Ukraine by 20 times, and in the number of ammunition – 40 times. Further, the Ukrainians allegedly almost ended in missiles to the “tornado” and “hurricanes”, which allowed from afar to beat the Russians in the first weeks of the war. There were “grades” and howitzers that beat a maximum of 20-30 km. Russians can beat the accumulations of Ukrainian troops with missiles from a distance of many tens and even hundreds of kilometers.
The newspaper assures the gigantic superiority of Russians in the air: it is possible to shoot down Russian planes and helicopters only occasionally. The anti -tank “javelins” and NLAW were very useful in the first phase of the war, they are useful now, but they will not hit them on the long -range artillery of the enemy. As a result, Ukraine suffers heavy losses, and this suppresses the morale in units: the number of deserters is constantly growing
Further, the publication notes that Russians are well aware that the amount of powerful weapons that Western countries send is still very small, and it reaches the front slowly. Therefore, they try to use their (overwhelming) advantage while it is.
In addition, Ukraine has 550 prisoners of Russians after the series of exchanges, while Russians have more than 5,600 Ukrainians, and Moscow requires an exchange of 1: 1.
