BTA reported about annual work in public transport

2021, among other things, I remember and from the point of view of providing citizens to the transportation services for the transport of passengers in accordance with modern requirements for quality and safety. In accordance with the instructions of the head of state, the update of the bus fleet to ensure the comfort of citizens was continued in the current year. So, according to the Agreement, signed on December 10, 2020 between the Baku Transport Agency and the Turkish BMC company, 150 new buses were delivered to Baku.

All buses that fully meet the modern requirements of the passenger traffic and the corresponding Euro 6 standard have a length of 12 meters. In the near future, the process of delivery of buses in Baku will begin.

In parallel with the updating of the bus park, work continues to expand the coverage of the non-cash payment system for passenger traffic. This year, 578 buses are integrated into Bakicart.

On the basis of the appeals of citizens and the results of daily analysis, 42 lines of routes were optimized, updated 7 lines of regular routes, 14 new route lines were organized.

During the year, attention was also paid to updating public transport infrastructure. So, about 270 new bus stop points are organized.

The most important indicator in this sense is to ensure the sustainability of public transport during a pandemic. The number of people traveling by bus on regular route lines increased by 11% compared with last year. Providing transparency of 49% of the total turnover in the route network is also one of the main results of the measures taken. Currently, about 800 thousand passengers are used non-cash payments in public transport.
