Cabinet Germany offers to extend quarantine

The department of the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany insists on the extension until April 18 in the country of restrictive measures aimed at deterring the proliferation of coronavirus. This was announced on Sunday N-TV TV channel with reference to the draft resolution on the situation with a pandemic, which the head of the Government of Angela Merkel and Prime Ministers of the German regions will be discussed on Monday.

as writes for its part of the BILD newspaper, in the regions, where 100 thousand people account for 100 cases of infection per week, the night curfew will be introduced. Schools and kindergartens will continue to work, on distance learning is supposed to be transferred only in the regions, where 200 cases of infection per 100 thousand people will be recorded.

In the draft document there is no speech about possible general quarantine relaxation, but it is noted that the authorities of the regions can launch “time-limited pilot projects”, in order to “be strict protective measures and on the basis of testing concept to allow separate areas of social life.” The Office of the German Chancellor also proposes to develop a special program for helping the tourism industry and related areas.

Now quarantine acts in Germany, but not as hard as in winter. Schools and kindergartens, hairdressers, cosmetic salons, floral and bookstores are open. The current quarantine measures are formally operating in Germany until March 28.
