Chavushoglu and Blinken discussed relationship between Baku and Yerevan

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chavushoglu and discussed with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken the normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations. The parties also exchanged views on the situation in Syria.

According to the State Department, Blinken noted that the United States continues to cooperate to “facilitate the dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia and to promote the achievement of the long -term political settlement of the conflict”.

The parties also discussed ways to improve the coordination and unity of NATO in response to a war in Ukraine. The Secretary of State praised the “diplomatic efforts of Turkey to ensure continuous transportation of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea and emphasized the importance of compliance with the agreements concluded through the mediation of the UN, and hold Moscow to be liable for the obligations”.
