Parties of the 1st round were played in the youthful chess Olympics. In total, 3 teams from 23 countries take part in the competition. Azerbaijan is represented by six teams.
Our first team – Azerbaijan -1, led by Riad Samedov (2455), beat Canada – 2.5: 1.5. Azerbaijan-2 played with Azerbaijan-3 and won with a score of 3.5: 0.5. Azerbaijan -4 lost to Kazakhstan – 1: 3.
The Nakhchyana team lost Cuba – 1.5: 2.5. And the collective from Sumgait invited at the last moment lost 0: 4 of Mongolia. It is interesting that the Sumgaitsev, who is led by the famous chess player Zeynab Mamedyarova, replaced the Zambia national team that had not arrived in Nakhchivan.
The Olympiad will consist of 9 rounds and will end on October 10th.
