Chief of police of Tehran was fired due to an attack on Azerbaijan Embassy

The chief of the police Tehran Hossein Rakhimi was removed from his position after an armed attack on the Azerbaijan Embassy in Tehran.

As the Iranian agency Tasnim reports, Rakhimi was dismissed by the head of the police of Iran Ahmed Rosa Radan. Abbas Ali Muhammadian was appointed new police chief of Tehran.

IRNA, in turn, reports that the Iranian Head of the Iran Hossain Amir Abdollahian and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Vakhidi held a meeting with the aim of evaluating the situation around the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy.

Armenian attack on the Azerbaijan Embassy in Tehran occurred on Friday, at 08.30 Baku time. As a result of the attack, the chief of security was killed, two diplomatic officers were injured.
