Children died due to Indian syrup

The State Security Service of Uzbekistan opened a criminal case on the death of 18 children who took the Indian drug for SARS. Representatives of the importer of the medicine are also detained, the press service of the Uzbek SSB reports.

The death of 18 children from the drug “DOK-1 Max” of the Indian company Marion Biotech confirmed the Uzbek Ministry of Health. Materials of medical examination were transferred to law enforcement agencies. During laboratory tests in the cure for SARS, a toxic substance was discovered – ethylene glycol.

Ethylene glycol and dietilen glycol are used in pharmaceuticals in microscopic doses. Their main use is the production of explosives, antifreeze, liquids for washing glasses and some types of plastic.
