“The United States must remember the sensitivity of the Taiwanese question and stop the official and military contacts with Taiwan, as well as the sale of weapons of the island,” said the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of China Zhao Lijiang, reports RIA Novosti.
According to him, the “principle of one of China” is the political basis of US-Chinese relations and Washington must fully realize the sensitivity of the Taiwanese question.
Zhao Lijian stressed that the United States should “strictly observe the principle of” one China “and avoid harming bilateral American-Chinese relations, as well as peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.”
“The Chinese side will take all necessary measures to protect their sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he indicated.
