China threatens energy deficit

China may encounter energy deficit this summer, despite an increase in coal production, Reuters reports.

According to the report, the problem is that the raw materials that have recently been obtained, of poor quality and quickly burn out at power plants. About 60% of electricity is produced in the country from coal. In connection with the restrictions on coal prices by the state, the mining workers have no incentive to extract expensive coal. They prefer the amount of raw materials. Power plants also prefer cheap coal, because it makes the cost of energy and costs below.

Traiders said that the mined raw materials may not be enough to meet the needs of energy due to the pace of consumption. According to forecasts, the southern and eastern regions of the Middle Kingdom may encounter interruptions in the supply of electricity this summer.
