The Government of Tajikistan, taking into account the current situation in Afghanistan, declared the construction of China military base in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, reports the Tajik department “Radio Liberty”.
It is noted that the new base will be built at the expense of funds that are highlighted by China at no cost. The PRC assumes the responsibility for providing the necessary equipment, equipment and materials necessary for the implementation of the project.
At the same time, in Tajikistan, they stated that the military facility would be under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.
Recall, two years ago, the Washington Post newspaper with reference to local residents and satellite images of the district reported that in Murgab’s district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region there is a secret military base of China. According to this data, it is located near the border with Afghanistan and is able to keep under control the main road leading from Afghanistan in Tajikistan.
