China’s authorities call for citizens stock products for winter, they may not be enough

Against the backdrop of new outbreaks of coronavirus and the beginning of the rainy season, which provoked the rise in prices for vegetables, the Chinese authorities called on the inhabitants of the country to stock in provisions for the winter, reports Financial Times.

It is noted that the PRC authorities fear problems that may arise with the production and supply of vegetables due to extreme weather conditions. It is also not excluded that in winter, depending on the epidemiological situation, universal quarantine measures can be introduced,

China traditionally increases the supply of products to the Chinese New Year, but this year the situation has complicated due to abnormal weather. In early October, due to heavy rains in the province of Shandong, where the largest plantations of vegetables in the country were located, died planting agricultural crops. Also in the country there is an increase in incidence of coronavirus, and therefore the message between the regions can be disturbed.
