Citizen Donated 45 Euros To Contribute To Reduction Of State Debts Of France

A French citizen donated 45 euros to contribute to the reduction of state debts in France, which is in a difficult situation due to state loans. Budget votes in the country led to a government crisis.

According to Le Figaro, a French citizen named Stefan Shamayar on December 13, 2024 donated 45 euros to the French Ministry of Economy to use them to pay state debts.

The Ministry of Economics accepted the donation of a France citizen.

The decision to make a donation was published in the official messenger of June 19, 2025. The decision says: “A donation in the amount of forty -five euros, made by Mr. Stefan Shamayar, the Ministry of Economics, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty of the check of December 13, 2024, was accepted”.

France in trouble due to public debt

, according to the financial results of 2024, France among the countries of the European Union (EU) ranks third with an indicator of 113 percent among countries with the highest ratio of public debt to gross domestic product (GDP).

At the same time, France is one of the countries with the highest budget deficit, which is 5.8 percent.

While the government wanted to apply strict savings for the payment of state debts, budget plans were described by the opposition as a “policy of rigid economy” and caused a violent reaction.

On the other hand, the budget for 2025 could not be approved by the National Assembly due to the government crisis. Moreover, the government of Michel Barnier, which could not reach a consensus with the opposition during the negotiations on the budget, fell on December 4, 2024 as a result of the simultaneous support of the vote of no confidence from the left alliance and ultra -right deputies.

After the fall of the Barnier government on December 17, the National Assembly unanimously adopted a special budget bill in order to prevent “termination of work” before the formation of a new government.

While negotiations on budget in France are one of the main disagreements between the opposition and the government, Prime Minister Francois Bayru is expected to present the National Assembly on July 15 for 2026, which provides for the savings of 40 billion euros.
