The Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Science and Education held a scientific and practical conference on the topic “The role of higher educational institutions in the preparation of the population for civil defense, improving the teaching of civil defense, strengthening the material and educational base of civil defense, discussing existing problems.” The event was held at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports.
The conference was attended by responsible persons on civil defense of both ministries, vice-rectors on civil defense of higher educational institutions of the republic, as well as head of the Civil Defense subject and faculty.
The main goal of the event is the role of universities in the preparation of the population for civil defense, determining the upcoming tasks in this area and ways of their implementation, increasing the level of knowledge of students studying in higher educational institutions on civil defense, improving the teaching of the subject “Civil Defense”, mutual The exchange of ideas in order to strengthen the material and educational base and eliminate existing problems, as well as strengthening mutual activity between ministries, said the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies.
The head of the Civil Defense Department of the Ministry of Emergencies, Major General Niyazi Zamanov, spoke about the role of science and education in the development of the civil defense system in order to increase the effectiveness of the work in the field of civil defense. Zamanov spoke about the importance of improving the knowledge of personnel teaching this subject, their selection in accordance with the qualifications and practical experience in the field of civil defense, the opening of civil defense departments in universities, the publication of educational and methodological aids for teaching an subject in Azerbaijani, Russian and English. He also emphasized the need to improve the quality of education, exchange of information and strengthen interaction between ministries.
Advisor to the Minister of Science and Education Nijate Mammadli and Corresponding Member of Nana, Head of the Department of Emergency Situations and Life Safety of Architectural and Civil Engineering, Islam Mustafaev, they spoke about the importance of improving civil defense teaching and strengthening the material and educational base of civil defense.
