Coronavirus hit in Bulgaria: there are no places in hospitals

The number of new cases of coronavirus infection in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours increased by 6,813 people, which is an absolute record from the beginning of the pandemic, reports Reuters.

During the day, 124 people died in coronavirus in the country, and from the beginning of the pandemic – 23 440.

It is noted that in Bulgaria the lowest percentage of vaccination among the countries of the European Union. Over the country, more than 7,000 people continue treatment from COVID-19 in hospitals, however, as local authorities report, the health system cannot cope with patient influx, the number of which increases every day. The situation is exacerbated by the lack of the right amount of medical personnel.

The government has already taken some measures: introduced the pass system to increase the vaccination rate among the population.

A few days ago, “anti-recreaks” held an action against the introduction of skips, and on October 28, the rally of service workers is expected.

Speaking at a briefing, I.O. Minister of Health of Bulgaria Stallo Katsarov said that the situation in hospitals remains critical. According to him, from 700 intensive care beds 608 already occupied.

“If the measures do not work, we will go for complete isolation,” said Katsarov.

Note that according to statistics, one dose of the vaccine received only every fourth resident of Bulgaria.
