Court was transferred to Georgia in case of Saakashvili

A meeting in the case of a motion to postpone the execution of punishment and release for health reasons Mikhail Saakashvili was postponed, reports News-Georgia.

The publication notes that the decision was made by judge Georgy Arevadze after the defense demanded the remote participation of Saakashvili.

Before that, the judge announced that the transportation of Saakashvili, who insisted on the presence in the meeting room, is not recommended by the doctors of the Vivamed clinic.

The new meeting is scheduled for December 14th.

According to the judge, by December 14 it will be known whether Saakashvili will be able to physically attend the meeting or it can be attracted remotely.

Saakashvili secretly arrived in Georgia at the end of September last year. On October 1, he was detained in Tbilisi in several criminal cases, after which he was placed in prison in Rustavi, where he announced a hunger strike. In November, without coordination with relatives and lawyers, he was first transferred to a prison hospital in Tbilisi, and then to a military hospital in Gori, where he stopped a hunger strike. On May 12, 2022, Saakashvili was placed in the Vivamed civilian clinic in Tbilisi, where he is currently. He considers his detention illegal.
