“Cover Gomel Direction”: Lukashenko asked Putin to leave part of forces in Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to leave part of the forces in the republic after the joint teachings of the Union State “to cover the Gomel direction”. This Lukashenko said on Tuesday at a meeting of the country’s security council, BelTA reports.

“In the current situation, I asked the President of Russia to leave only part of the forces to cover the Gomel destination. We never gathered to fight with Ukraine and never thought that we would threaten us. We never stationed the armed forces,” explained Lukashenko.
