Milli Majlis deputies visited the Azerbaijani Institute for Food Safety (AQTI). Before this, the chairman of the food security agency Goshgar Takhmazli and the chairman of the parliamentary committee on agricultural policy Tair Rzayev, in which members of the committee,
, were participated, took place.
At the meeting, Tahmazli gave detailed information about the measures taken to ensure the safety of food products in Azerbaijan. He spoke about the work done in the framework of the State Program to ensure the safety of food products in the country for 2019-2025 and the adopted law “On Food Safety”.
Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Agrarian Policy Tair Rzayev, in turn, spoke highly about AQTİ laboratories and their employees. At the meeting, the deputies were informed about the activities of AQTI. It was reported that in order to ensure the safety of food products and protect public health, specialized food safety laboratories, complex research, plant health and animals are functioning at the institute.
Parliamentarians also talked about the works and achievements in the field of food safety development in Azerbaijan, the modernization of the material and technical base, cooperation established with international organizations in order to increase theoretical and practical knowledge of employees working in the laboratories of the institute. Aqti̇ achievements were also marked in international tests.
After the meeting, the deputies examined the AQTİ laboratory and got acquainted with the work process.
