Infection of the Coronavirus infection, Diabete’s Development cases increased, reports The Guardian with reference to the research group from Weill Cornell Medicine.
Scientists are alarmed that with each new mutation, the virus becomes not only contagious, but also leads to more negative consequences. In particular, it was established that even in healthy people after suffering infection can develop diabetes mellitus.
Scientists explain this by the fact that coronavirus can infect insulin-producing pancreatic cells and change their function.
It is noted that doctors are increasingly concerned about the growing number of patients who have developed diabetes either during coronavirus infection, or shortly after recovery.
